The CMM (Coordinate measuring Machine) is a device that accurately measures the geometry of a 3D model by sensing discrete points on the surface of the 3D model with a probe.

CMM Machines typically specify the probes position in terms of its displacement from a reference position in a three dimensional coordinate system (X / Y / Z). CMM machines also allow the probe to be angled for various angle options. A complete dimension report is generated to specify if your 3D model is in specification to your tolerances.
